ripped off by the airlines

I take this trip back home to be with the family after the sudden death of my mother and on my return trip home I have to repurchase a roundtrip ticket for a oneway flight because the airlines host in my opinion was being an ass. I filed a complaint with the airline and a representive was to get back concerning this matter within 14days. This was a year in a half ago. I have been filing and refilling complaints to no avail I just want the money recredited back to the debit it was taken from. We had tickets purchase that we did not get to use do to no fault of our own. There were six other disgruntal passenger who were denied access to that flight when it was an hour and a half before takeoff. This can't be legal for an airline to do this to its customers.
