NEVER buy Maytag Washers

Bought new Maytag Legacy washer from Home Depot. After 2 years and two months started leaking. Damaged floor/baseboards etc. Maytag (yeah that repairman) says not worth fixing as these units will develop other problems (motor and transmission) and for a $500 unit just replace it. Repair man was right as now unit won't even run after bad electrical malfunction and burning electrical odor. Maytag says why didn't I buy extended warranty and I said your product reputation and ad about the lonely repairman. Well Amana bought out Maytag and all sales people talked to in search of replacemnt said avoid Maytag like the plague as they get a huge amount of complaints. Home Depot could care less.
