hurricaine katrina victims

I am so frusterated with hurricaine katrina handouts. I see it like this: When I sue a company that has wronged me. Judges and courts are there to make people whole again. Not get rich quick. I cannot collect more than I started with. I saw something how Tide and I believe it was whirlpool or frigidaire gave hurricaine victims new washer&dryers,a years worth of soap, etc. So many companies quick to offer help. Clothing, furnature, even homes. Their accounts all went into deferment so they had no late fees and overdraft fees from credit card companies, student loans, home loans, etc. Most of these people were supposed to be poor! If they used a launndry mat, they shouldn't be given new washer/dryer just because they are hurricaine victims. It's about making someone whole again. I understand their loses, but everyone was told to evacuate. 3 months ago I had my roof blow off my house. I filed a claim w/ my insur and found out it had expired 3 weeks prior and no one from the company told me. So my insur claim was denied. I got stuck with $4,000 in repairs. I consider this a 'disaster'. I don't get lavished with new appliances, I couldn't pay my student loan causing a default, had to let my credit cards go into collections. Even got caught up in payday loans just to get by. I now have to file bankrupcy. And to top it all off, I get to pay more for everything I purchase because of the inflation to cover the cost of products that the big corp's decided to hand out to katrina victims!
