Get A Real Job

Why is it that when you answer the question 'What do you do for a living?' with 'I'm a stay-at-home Mom.', most times the response is 'No, I mean a real job.'? I have a real job, and it's a tough one!! It is raising my children to be confident, self-sufficient, decent adults.
