misleading and false information from royal carribean cruise line,charged expenses and extras in pounds sterling,equaled twice the cost of us dollars,no mention in brochures.all extra charges for basic transport from ship @ ports arranged and charged by ship in pounds. when we requested a meeting with responsible officers ameeting was arranged and the representatives were introduced as with titles and positions they did not hold, they outright lied,when i demanded another meeting with the thentic officers and confronted them with my issues and told them of the missrepresentation they stared at me and did not respond. out of 1800 passengers on board 96 were americans and all of us were treated in the same manner.upon returning to the states icomplained to the company and was told ' AT' THE END OF THE DAY THE RULE IS LET THE BUYER BE WARE' I WAS ASKED TO TAKE ACTION FOR 40 OF THE US CITIZENS---WHAT I HAVE LEARNED FROM THIS EXPERIENCE IS THE FOLLOWING---CRUISE LINES HAVE NO OVERSIGHT FROM THE US GOV'T---BECAUSE THEY SAIL UNDER A FOREIGN FLAG THEY HAVE PRACTICALY NO OBLIGATION TO US LAW EXCEPT WHERE A SERIOUS CRIME HAS BEEN COMMITTED SUCH AS MURDER,RAPE{MAYBE}OR KIDNAPPING---BELIEVE ME THIS IS VITUALLY TRUE---WHEN YOU BOARD A SHIP YOU ARE STEPPING ON FOREIGN SOIL AND ALL BETS ARE OFF------IAM SPEAKING OF FOOD POISONING,ATTACKS ON FEMALES, SLOW RESPONSE IN THE EVENT OF A MEDICAL EMERGENCY,SUCH AS APASSENGER HAVING A HEART ATTACK ON A CUNARD SHIP AND BEING ATTENDED TO FOR MORE THAN A HALF HOUR-----HE--DIED--, ANOTHER -PASSENGER SUFFERED SEA SICKNESS WAS CHARGED NEARLY 200 HUNDRED DOLLARS FROM THE MEDICAL DEPARTMENT. THERE ARE MANY MORE TERRIBLE EVENTS AND WE DESERVE WHAT WE GET FROM THESE PEOPLE IF WE DO NOT TAKE A STAND AND MAKE OURSELVES HEARD. IAM CERTAIN THAT ALL READING THIS HAVE INDIVIDUAL HORROR STORIES, YET AS OF NOW, IHAVE NOT KNOWN OF ANY GROUP EFFORT TO COMPEL ROYAL CARRIB. OR ANY ONE ELSE IN THE INDUSTRY TO ACT IN THE SAME MANNER WE HOLD ANY OTHER ORGANIZATION TO BEHAVE. IAM NOT AN ATTORNEY NOR DO I WORK FOR ANY ATTY. IN ANY FASHION BUT IM FURIOUS.
