The Arizona Department of Economic Security is supposed to help people in need. I am waiting for Social Security disability hearing. During that time, I should be allowed to get Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF). DES changes that to Cash Assistance. I am not eligible because my wife receives $560 is Social Security disability, and that is above the $489 allowed for a family of 5. They do not deduct expenses from the Social Security Disability. Not even enough to pay rent. The people at DES are rude, and do not return phone calls. My case worker is no longer there, so they transfer me to the supervisor. I left two messages, with no call back in over 10 days. These people should be FIRED and forced to live under the rules that they say are there. How can you not deduct rent from the only income a family recieves? Stupidity is rampant in Arizona, and Gov Napolitano better start paying attention to the mistreatment. Maybe I am being discriminated against because I am white?
