Work Confession

I used to enjoy my work until management changed. Now, I stuck on an office floor full of strange people. My confession is of the hate I feel towards the new guys and the new order. While I survived the purge that came after the company changed hands, I’ve been miserable ever since. All my old colleagues and friends are gone; I spent three years cultivating those relationships. Now, I’m hiding in my cubicle away from these young, loud, effusive people. I feel like a dinosaur and I hate them all. Meeting by the water cooler is no longer cool. I wish someone will just come and tell me to go. That way I can get some severance pay and move on somewhere else. I’m so out of sorts that I have actually started considering starting a fire there. Who are these people? Where are the ones I was used to?

I have had many jobs I worked one for 10 years It started great raises were there every year everyone communicated and got along it went this way for a long while. Then we ended up hiring a few bad apples, not that they were bad workers they were actually knowledgeable, efficient and good at there jobs. One thing was they worried about what everyone else was doing but whatever they were doing was fine. They undermined the branch manager to his bosses with phone calls until he was asked to resign The moral of the entire branch which spread to the other branch went hell in a hand basket and they patted themselves on the back, as they talked pure shit about everyone's life, including peoples personal lives. It got to the point where I was scared to fire up my company vehicle to go to the gas down the road to fuel up and pick up a pack of crackers unless it was during company time I eventually had to quit and get another job as the company got on the edge of folding up and it eventually did. Maybe its time for a change

I'd advice that you try connecting with the new people. Obviously, keeping you around when your office changed hands and faces meant you are considered valuable. You should be thankful, you ain't laid off. My guess is that you have a skill that is vital to the work done there. Therefore, cultivate a positive attitude if you hope to keep the job. If you truly want to leave, then do. Remember, in this economy, finding a new job can be tough but then I guess your skill is all-important.

well, obviously, starting a fire is NOT the answer as that could lead to serious jail time. i suggest that you take the initiative and start looking for another job and moving on. in theses times it will be harder, but it may be possible. good luck and let us know how it goes.

Unfortunately in today's economy this happens frequently. Best solution to always find positive in everything so my advice is rent Office Space :)
