Why I don't trust the police

It's a long story but the jist of it is..A friend was driving an HGV lorry. He overtook another lorry which was in the crawler lane going uphill. As he was overtaking he noticed a car at the bottom of the hill travelling in the same direction he was but on the wrong side of the road. As he was approaching the top of the hill the car was overtaking him. He signalled to the driver that he was on the wrong side of the road. Car pulled in in front on him and guess what.. it was an unmarked police car. After an informal chat(!) police were happy and assured my friend that he would hear no more about it. He later received notification that he was being charged with driving without due care and attention; pulling out when it was not safe to do so and forcing the police car onto the wrong side of the road. All lies. He was determined to plead not guilty but was put under extreme pressure by his lawyer at the last minute to change his plea. A mix up over the live points in his license led to him losing his licence and also his job. Complained to the police but they say correct procedure was followed. We are still determined to take this further. That's a very brief summary.
