why did it happen

this morning I woke up saying his name. I haven't seen him in years I haven't had a conversation of any sort with him In at least 3 years. so why did I wake calling his name? my boyfriend heard me and it makes me feel bad. I don't understand why I was calling for him and not my boyfriend. why would this happen?
