I found my soul-mate when I was 14, we dated at 17. At 18 I foolishly let him go to "experience life", now at 23 I wish more than ANYTHING that I could be in his arms. He knows me better than anyone. He has a girlfriend. I want him to be happy, I just wish he could be happy with me instead. We still talk. I'm broken. Completely broken. I love you.

As you see, soul mates are nothing more than pleasant fuck buddies. That makes sense since there are 6 billion people in the world. What are the chances (if there was such a thing as a soul mate) that they would be in the hundred or so people close to you? People (or mostly girls) use soul mates to make themselves feel better when the hormones overcome the common sense and they put out. Playing the soul mate card makes it sound more special than it ever was.
