Tom Tom reliability

Bloody Tom Tom 500 has packed up, again! I have already exchanged it once when it just shut down and then refused to work after about 2 weeks of use, and now with only about 20 trips out, this one has done the same ! The thing is kept in my study when not in use so, no issues about it getting hot or anything sat in the car. Considering what the thing costs, you would expect it to be a bit more reliable wouldnt you. Mind you, its very usefull and by far the easiset sat nav around to use.
