HOW MANY OTHERS HAVE BEEN SIMILARLY MISTREATED BY TIME-WARNER CABLE COMPANY? Time Warner / Road Runner has failed me seriously, and their continued negligence by not burying the coaxial cable line, a tell-tell piece of evidence of recent Installation of Internet access, etc. Their active negligence has put my home and me at higher risk of burglary and bodily harm. In comparison, I decided that making note of it here, is of no more risk to me than they have caused me already. Background .... sort of ... Road Runner was installed on May 20, 2006 & it STILL is not working!!! Having inoperable Road Runner is lousy , and I cannot tolerate either (a) product that is suppose to be great but is not due to indifference of installation technician, who ‘did his thing and then promptly left me to the mercy of the overwhelming books of instructions, etc. I received the installation on Saturday, May 20, 2006; a day that I took off work at my regular job plus my son from Atlanta drove to Charlotte to help me with the equipment, etc. Road Runner never has and still does not work on my PC. I feel that the technician could have spared a few moments to check everything out before exiting. There was very little opportunity to talk with him, as he constantly was talking to his cell phone from the moment of arrival and throughout.. He told me, on May 20, that a cable cord will be strung across my back yard (which is everyone's as I live in a townhouse community) but someone from Time Warner would bury it within 10 days. It is still here, but the grounds workers have raised it somehow up in the air so their tools won't hurt it & it won't hurt them, etc. There's always a chance, albeit rare, that a child could be running in the darkness and get strangled by hitting the raised cable line. I called Time Warner again last week and was told that the reason the cable was not buried is because the installing technician failed to put in a work order to have the line buried. The customer service person I talked with, said she requested a work order and said it would be taken care of by Friday, June 9, 2006. It is now 11:30 p.m., June 14,2006, and the cable line is still hanging across the Association's common ground. THE CABLE IS STILL HIGHLY VISIBLE AND NOT BURIED. TIME WARNER HAS PUT ME IN JEOPARDY OF HAVING A HIGHER POSSIBILITY OF BURGLARY, SINCE EVERYONE IN THIS COMMUNITY CAN SEE THE LINE AND THEREBY KNOW THAT I NOW HAVE NEW ELECTRONIC EQUIPMENT -- I AM VERY DISTRESSED AND FEARFUL IN MY OWN HOME , DUE TO THIS NEGLECT AND BREACH AND VIOLATION OF PRIVACY ACT / RIGHTS BY TIME-WARNER. THIS ACT IS MORE SERIOUS THAN HAVING THEM SHARE MY PRIVATE INFORMATION VIA THE TELEPHONE OR MAIL – WHICH IS UNLAWFUL. I live alone, am approaching 60 years of age, and instead of having had a good experience in getting a new PC & internet hookup, I do not have access to email and otherwise, AND I am now more paranoid than ever that my home will be vandalized / burglarized whether I am here, present, or away at work - I do not get home until late at night. Time Warner's phone message tells callers that there is a high volumn of call activity and it may take up to 30 minutes to get a customer service representative. I have called this evening, June 14, twice, and each time I waited for 50+ minutes and no one assisted me - just a barrage of advertisements. After 5 p.m. there is NO ONE to answer those phones, but Time Warner falsely advertises to the contrary. I have talked with my children about this matter and have decided that, if I should have the bad fortune of someone breaking in my home to steal within the next year, I am putting Time Warner on notice that I and my children shall hold TW accountable for retribution if I am a victim of burglary, bodily harm, even death. This is a logical and reasonable course of action, due to Time Warner having treated me me with such indifference and disregard for my safety. I have instructed my children that, should it come to pass that I am harmed or killed during such an encounter, they should pursue a legal suit on my behalf to discredit this conglomerate rightly so, and seek, at the minimum, medical or burial expenses and any other form of retribution our attorney deems fair. I'll probably give up completely on Time Warner, give my PC and printer back to my children, and forget about connectivity to the world as I use to know it. Thank you for reading this.
