I wish to share some of my thoughts about feminism and world politics. The feminist struggle began with Mary Wollstonecraft's polemic entitled 'A Vindication of the Rights of Woman' which was met by vehement resistance from the so-called proponents of the bogus 'Age of Reason' in Eighteenth Century Europe. She was assailed as a renegade and a person of low morals because she dared challenge the legitimacy of the patriarchy of her day. Most women see the feminist movement as a struggle for gender equality, but if females are not inferior to males why do they need them for validation? Have you ever considered this? If women are indeed inadequate as the sexist and chauvinist male bigots assert then why does the patriarchy find it necessary to hinder their progress? On the contrary, women have been the victims of a nefarious and blatant conspiracy to hamper them precisely because the astute members male tyranny do recognize the awesome potential of ascendant women to excel in areas of leadership and management. Allow me to cite two historical examples to support my contention. Joan of Arc- In her day women soldiers or warriors were unheard of, but yet this girl, barely out of her teens, and without the benefit of any military training, led the French army in decisive victories against the English forces. What was astonishing and is missed by most people is how she could get those soldiers to follow a young woman at all, given the thinking of her day. If it weren't for the fact that the Dauphin of France, a corrupt blackguard actually betrayed her to the English she would have succeeded in driving the English out of France altogether. I cannot believe that her achievement was lost on any thinking man at that time and i think her story struck terror in the hearts of patriarchates. After all, if this young woman could succeed where male leaders had failed, imagine what other women could do if given the opportunity. Queen Elisabeth I Not only did she rule over one of the most prolific periods of English history, but she has enjoyed the admiration of all, having outshone many kings who preceded her as well as those who followed her. The Elizabethan Era is famous for producing such lights as Shakespeare, Milton Ben Jahnson, Sir Francis Bacon and Christopher Marlowe, just to mention a few of the greats of that period. Likewise with Queen Elisabeth I, it is so apparent that she performed with excellence and refused to marry because of her dedication to her duty. We live in very perilous times considering the fact that at least six countries could launch a thermonuclear holocaust which would mean the total destruction of the earth and given the poor record of irrespomsibility of those male led societies, it is possible a leader could decide to try to dominate the world playing 'Russian Roulette' with weapons of mass destruction and one miscalculation could spell cataclysm.
