A Comparison of Genders On the physical plane it was obvious that the male was larger and stronger which meant that initially he dominated in primitive societies because in order for humans to survive it required physical skills such as hunting and fending off enemies. Rearing children and keeping a household demanded all of the female's time and energy . and she was thus confined to the home Life was short and usually the living standard was very low until civilization dawned and gradually survival demanded that humans function on the next plane. Life became more tolerable when skill and knowledge replaced brute force and violence and the role of the female made a subtle change and the restrictions on her were loosened. Males began to learn that women had strengths on the higher plane and women began to assume more important roles. The next phase was the quest for enlightenment. Advanced civilizations became more and more sophisticated and women began to spread their wings and assume leadership roles once the exclusive right of males. The remarkable fact of all this progress was that females demonstrated unusual spiritual powers which surpassed those of males and the unenlightened males began to feel threatened and so the conspiracy to limit the free _expression and development for women began in order to maintain the status quo and the age of tyranny and the suppression of enlightenment began. It was called the Dark Ages when ignorance and superstition was widespread. This atavistic and backward trend lasted until the 'rebirth' of knowledge and refinement. It has been called the Age of Reason, but the true revival didn't really occur until Susan B. Anthony secured the vote for women, which led to the freedoms which modern women enjoy now. We now live in an era where women can grow and develop because of co-education and political, vocational and academic opportunities are now available. Before Condoleeza Rice became Secretary of State, Henry Kissinger had been the only one to hold a Ph.D It hasn't been too awfully long since the first woman was seated on the US Supreme Court, but gradually the superior qualities of women are emergeing and the future holds great promise for more and more breakthroughs. As I matured I noticed how influential women were and I wondered how that could be in this patriarchal society we live in, but the answer is beginning to become clear. Pehaps our society is not as patriarchal as it appears and very subtly it is being transformed into a matriarchy and the sexist bigots will wake up one day and learn they have been marginalized. =======================================================
