I am singularly unimpressed with Telewest. I gave them one month's notice to terminate my service. They invited me to contact them, should I change my mind. Ultimately, I did change my mind, purely because I was unexpectedly out of the country and had had no opportunity to organise an alternative internet provider before leaving. A named person on the account contacted them on my behalf, whilst I was abroad, but Telewest refused to accept instructions from that person, (despite having done so previously), and advised him 'gleefully'(his words), that the disconnection would go ahead. I had only been disconnected a couple of days when I contacted them myself to find out why they had refused to accept instructions from the named person, but they could not shed any light on this and eventually informed me that they had no record of his call. They agreed to reconnect me, but only if I entered into a new 12 month contract with them, which I am not prepared to do, bearing in mind that they do not provide broadband in my area and supply far fewer channels now than when I subscribed to them eight years ago. As a result of their attitude, I have lost access to scores of work-related and important emails.
