my complaint is for those who purchase large household appliances and the attitudes that are given to customer Svc reps and spv's. On the Majority as a spv I hear 95% complaints on the unit not lasting 15-20 years (like they did oh so long ago) Or how the repairman commercials show the guy sitting at a desk with no work to do. I do understand the stress it causes to have the unit brk down, I have been there and I have been thru it. However yelling and screaming at the csrs or the spv's is the quickest way not to get your story heard and documented. I try to treat the ppl I speak with with the same respect that I would hope to receive. Do I always get that No. I try to help as much as I can, however if a unit is out of warranty its out and there is nothing we can do. Most warranties on appliances are 1 yr Labor and parts. No extended parts warranty and if a part is replaced w/in the first yr and it expires after the warranty has ended the part that was replaced only has a 90 day replacement warranty. I know its not fair that an appliance breaks down, but these are man made products and most of the Manufactorers dont make the parts that go into the appliances but get them sometimes from overseas of south of the border. When you purchase an appliance BUY THE EXTENDED WARRANTIES!!!!! I will tell you this.. I love my job and I love talking to ppl from all over the continental U.S. however the down side of the job is being blamed for the problems with the appliances, being cussed at, the snide remarks or the blatent disregard for anything that I try to do to assist as much as I can. We are people too and we do also work for a living and many of us understand the stress of food loss or clothes not drying in time for work, or the appliance being damaged. My hope is that when you call into a Call center for any business that you treat the Cust svc rep with the same respect that you would like to be treated with.
