Shoplifting

I'm a good person I hope. I do well in school I'm nice I don't dress like a slut but I shoplifted and i told my parents it was an accident. I thought it would be better if they didn't know the truth, it would break there hearts. I feel like a bad person... Am I? I'm trying to go to confession at church as soon as I can.

Yes it's really bad thing and you have to confess your parent regarding this.

Obviously you know you have done something wrong because you are worried that you are not a good person and you are ashamed of your actions. In church i am sure you have learned that you must repent of your sins to be forgiven for them. This means to stop committing that sin. If you continue to shoplift then you are not sorry for what you have done. Youre not a bad person. You have made a bad decision. If you continue to make the same bad decisions and not examine the way your actions affect you, your family, and the victim then that makes you a bad person.
