Service Misrepresentation

This past spring I went car buying for the very first time as a single lady. After having been married for 27-years, this task can be quite daunting. Although I found a 2007 vehicle for slightly less money at another dealer, I was happy with a deal I was getting on a 2006 KIA Spectra because of the service they were offering. As I was trading in a 2002 KIA Sportage - I was happy to be a returning KIA customer. At the time of the sale I was told that they would do door-to-door service for routine maintenance. They would drop a loaner car off at my house and pick up my Spectra and return it to me that evening. I have recently moved to Berks County but work in Dauphin County (Harrisburg). I made sure they were aware of the distance I drive to work and my hours and they assured me that would not be a problem. However, when I called for my first scheduled maintenance - they told me my hours would not work. However, they did leave me a voicemail saying that they would be willing to drop the car off the night before and return my car the following evening. I checked my owner's manual for scheduled maintenance and realized that I did not actually have to schedule it yet...so I waited a couple of weeks. When it finally became time - I called again ONLY to be told that they no longer do loaner cars. This was the exact selling point on the KIA Spectra and now they no longer do it! I was so angry that I scheduled my maintenance with Sears and told them they lost a loyal customer and that I would tell my friends not to trust their sales spiel. The manager's response was, 'that's too bad'. When I contacted Corporate Headquarters - their only response was to provide me with the manager's name and phone number. Anyway - the name of the dealership is Savage KIA in Berks County, PA. Buyers Beware - and get absolutely EVERYTHING in writing! As a satisfied KIA owner - it saddens me to think that my next vehicle will not be a KIA because they do not back up their sales agreement.
