Received postcard from a consulting firm telling how they can obtain a $5,000.+ grant guaranteed. I called their listed # and was told I was qualified. The person stated they had no web site. A $299.00 price tag was their price, and I was led to believe they would do all the work, including grant writing. If I were to cancel, they would still take from my bank account $39.99 for their time spent. After further investigation, I found they did have a web site, which had their disclaimer. The disclaimer told a different story from the salesman's promises. No work on their behalf will be started until Feb. 3rd when the monies would be in my bank account. Due to the salesmen's lies, I will be cancelling, and I do not believe they have the right to charge the cancelation fee. The saleman lied and I feel I am being scammed. Am I correct?
