return policy, Walmart

In June of this year I purchased a vacuum cleaner (Dirt Devil, bagless) from WalMart in SAcramento. They have a policy of allowing customers to return an item IF it is within 90 days. That vacuum cleaner literally died 92 days after I bought it. I paid $100.00 for it. I tried to take it back, and by this time it was eight days past the 90-day limit. they refused to take it back or give me any credit for it even though it was absoutely not working. I realize that I was eight days past the 'allowed' time but since the 'thing' quit, rather than some excuse like my not liking it, I felt that I should be give some sort of credit. No way. I will never, of course, buy another appliance from Walmart because it would probably die just past the deadline for returns. So - if you're shopping at a WalMart store, be forewarned.
