Retail workers can relate

I used to manage an auto parts store. We were the "hub" store for the entire region, so we had any part that the other stores didn't carry. One day, a customer came in and needed an axle for her car. We had it. We were the only people in the city with this particular part. But the woman was very rude to my cashier. The customer was black, and she was being racist towards the Hispanic cashier. I am white, for what it's worth. She was so rude that I asked her to leave the store. She said that she couldn't leave without the axle. I knew how desperate she was for it. So I took a razor (we kept razors on us for opening boxes), and, with her watching, cut the rubber boot on the axle, thus making it useless. Then I said, "I'm sorry, but it looks like this one is defective. I can't sell it to you. But you can order a new one and it will be here in about two weeks." She threatened to have me fired, but I really didn't care. I was close to leaving this job anyway. It felt so damn good. And the look on her face was priceless.

Good work, I used to sell video games and we'd get these dickhead customers come in and tell us it's cheaper somewhere else, they'd be rude about it too, so we tell them to go buy it from there, 10 minutes later they come back wanting it and we'd tell them sorry they're all sold out. Then they'd say what about the ones on the shelf? And we said they're display only. If s customer pissed me off I used to go out the back and scratch the disc so it wouldn't wprk when they got home so they'd have to come back.
