Racial Discrimination, Bigotry and a Personal Vendetta Please be advised that I am registering an official compliant against Edward L. Berger representing the Law firm of: Gordin and Berger 1760 Marker Street Suite 600 Philadelphia, PA 19103 215-564-2031 215-972-5390 fax I am a 45 year old African-American male who is currently experiencing a period of financial hardship. On February 23rd, 2006, I contacted Edward L. Berger in reference to an outstanding student loan with Temple University from 1991. I informed Mr. Berger that I would like to resolve this old debt and asked that he give me a payoff amount. Mr. Berger and I agreed that $9500.00 would settle the debt in full. I specifically informed Mr. Berger that my payment of the $9500.00 was contingent upon bank approval of a home refinance loan, and that the process may take a month or more. On April 12, the $9500 payment was made to the Gordin & Berger Trust Account. Mr. Berger said that he would send a fax later that day (February 23rd, 2006) indicating that we had reached an agreement. The fax never came that day or that week. I contacted Mr. Berger to inquire about the fax, and he told me that it was forth coming. The following week I received a letter from Mr. Berger indicating that the $9500.00 payment must be received within 10 days of February 23, 2006. I immediately contacted Edward L. Berger, and reminded him that the $9500.00 was contingent upon loan approval from the bank, and that making the payment within 10 days was not an option because I was not in control of the banks decision. It was at this point that an arrogant Edward L. Berger began to speak and act in a predatory, demeaning and derogatory manner, seeking to profit from the proceeds of the home refinance loan. I never agreed verbally or in writing to pay the $9500.00 within 10 days. Edward L. Berger is seeking to collect an additional $1371.37 in collection fees. It would not surprise me if Mr. Berger has a mortgage payment of $1371.37. I cannot afford to pay Mr. Berger's' mortgage as I am struggling to pay my own mortgage. This behavior in indicative of the good ole boy mentality of “Taking Advantage of a Stupid Nigger”. I would like to inform Mr. Berger that I am not a “Stupid Nigger”, but a fairly well educated and informed African American Citizen. In response to a complaint that I filed with the Philadelphia Bureau of Consumer Protection, Mr. Berger referred to me as a “Lifelong Deadbeat”. In response to a complaint that I filed with the Burlington County Department of Consumer affairs, Mr. Berger has indicated that under no circumstances will his off consider cutting me a break. My home is currently up for sale and the judgment lien against my home must be satisfied before I can close. Edward L. Berger's refusal to take the necessary action to satisfy this lien is causing extreme mental stress, anxiety and duress for me and my family. Edward L. Berger has turned this matter into a personal vendetta, and I hope that his anger and need to teach “The Stupid Nigger” a lesson does not jeopardize the health, safety or well being of my family or myself. I will not under any circumstances tolerate Racism, Bigotry, and Demeaning or Derogatory behavior from any person or entity. I am a God fearing Christian, who will never proclaim to be superior to any man, but I will always know in my heart that I am every man's equal who has ever walked the face of this earth.
