My boss is a sucker for pregnant women and I am exploiting that to stay longer at home. The first time it happened, I was truly late and he was angry but after I explained that I was pregnant and vomiting, he was all sweet and accommodating. That’s when the other women in the office let me in on the secret. Now I only need to cough before he gives me an off day. Ironically, I had a miscarriage two months ago but I didn’t tell him. If my calculation is right, I have two more weeks to enjoy sick leave before I tell him I just lost the baby. Then, they say I’m really going to get a whole week free.
