Possible design flaw in KIA

I have driven standard transmission (manual) for over 30 years and have never burnt out a clutch. And yet in the passed year 4/05-7/06 the clutch on my 2002 KIA Sportage has had to be replaced twice at approximately 20,000 intervals. KIA will not acknowledge that perhaps their clutch system is not heavy duty enough to handle the 4 wheel drive vechicle. Now I need to buy a new car before the deadline of 20,000 additional miles. Anyone out there with the same problem?
