I got a disk from Peoplepc that AARP sponsers. The disk caused my old computer to crash, then I went out to buy a new DELL Well, my provider is EXPRESSAMERICA because they are local. Instead, people pc took over my new computer as I had them pull money from my Bank account as I never have owned a credit card. The program did not let me have local numbers so I had two months of fifty dollars to pay to my phone company. I spent HOUTS trying to get to peoplepc but their folks are in ASIA or India and when I TRIEd to get to accounts I was put on HOLD for ever. So I stopped my bank from allowing any money for peoplepc. My new computer was controlled by poeplePC and I had a heck of a time getting my local provider to take over. They have an 800 number and local help. Never put on HOLD. I am angry because I thought that AARP was suppose to protect us oldees. I am in a subsidized housing unit and love it, but I have to WATCH every cent. Now I am getting phone calls from INDIA for 4.95 cents. I feel they owe me one hundred bucks for throwing my phone all over the state of Maine. Another friend had the SAME experience with the disk. They promised me that it would not matter that I had an old computer. AGGRAVATION is all I got out of those folks and I wonder what criteria did you choose to have this disk sent out and I got about five of them yet in the mail. NOW, they want five dollars??? Can you help me understand all this? I don't trust the ads anymore.
