Opportunity Lost

We've been friends for yeras and always had a strong connection. She's been married since before we knew each other. Last fall we started to have an 'honest' conversation about things, but she wouldn't return to it figuring 'what's the point'? She's as loyal as the day is long, and I never would have had an affair with her, but we both know it would have been a long term deal. Now, she and her husband are unexpectedly pregnant and she's become distant with me...it's like I've lost a friend too. I can tell she doesn't like talking to me about the pregnancy, but yet I can't get her to talk about the 'elephant' in the room either. I know whatever possibilities that existed before the pregnancy are gone. Neither of us would mess with that situation. I just wish we could throw everything out on the table and have one honest conversation.
