Coldwell Banker, Ocean City Maryland: We rented a condo at Carousel in Ocean City through Coldwell Banker Real Estate between 7-21-2006 and 7-22-2006. The unit we rented was #905. I did not realize I could rent directly from Carousel. When we arrived, the unit had not been cleaned. In fact there was dirty pots and pans on top of the stove. The kitchen counters were so sticky that when you leaned on them, you felt like you had Velcro on your forearms. This 2 bedroom unit was supposed to sleep 5 comfortably. The bathrooms were so dirty that when my wife started to sweep, there was a pile of dirt and hair. I would not recommend renting any unit from Coldwell Banker in Ocean City. They do not inspect the units prior to guests arriving. Their rental Manager, Julie Schmidt told me that under the contract I signed did not allow for any refunds, including if the air conditioning wasn't working. Their lack of customer service is pathetic. I asked for us to be moved to another unit and was refused. I was told that they needed to address our concerns with the unit first. Well, by the time our week stay was over, they did indeed address almost each concern, but it took them all week. It is evident that Coldwell Banker is only concerned with making a buck. They do not care about the people that rent from them. They sent me an apology letter with a $100 refund. We waited over 4 hours for their cleaning crew to clean up the condo. Needless to say, we lost the first day on our vacation waiting for them to clean up the place. Our vacation was over and they finally attempted to get 'most' of the problems fixed. Had they only inspected the unit prior to our arrival, they would have seen that it needed a major overhaul. I complained as I did not want to be held libal for all the problems.
