Sub: O2 Carphone Warehouse Excessive Bill I took a new first mobile contract from O2 Carphone Warehouse (Online from One Stop Phone Shop) I paid in advance charges for first two months and suddenly I found my line was restricted (I could not call out). I found from logging on to the website that there is unbilled charges of £620.53. • I wrote letter to carphone warehouse querying about 1. Unbilled charges of £620.53. 2. My credit limit was £100 only so how the account run up to this amount. 3. When I contacted customer service and asked for the details, Customer Service Officer told that charges relate to internet usage on 29th April 2006. I confirmed the date three times with the Customer Service officer. When I argued that, I contracted new mobile in May she changed her mind and told me it relates to 29th May. 4. I have not used internet beyond free limits (30 days free browsing up to 5Mb 500 pages as per O2 letter) so I requested to provide me full details. 5. My line is restricted Until the date, I have not received reply to this letter. • I wrote a reminder letter on 25th July • I contacted Citizens Advice Bureau and they told me to contact Trading Standard Division. • Trading Standard Division wrote letter to company secretary of carphone warehouse querying about the charges, even the charges for 30000kb = £353.149 and e.g. 29323kb = £73.107. As per the O2 tariff, the charges for 30000kb should be £74.70 only and not £353.149. • After follow-up, Carphone warehouse wrote letter on 3rd October referring trading standard letter, without proper explaining all the above and asked me to pay the amount. • I am paying £36 every month towards my contract charges. My line is still not de-restricted. My free minutes and free text are lapse. • I have received formal demand from recovery agency in respect of Carphone warehouse O2 mobile overdue bill charges 763.84 Under the circumstances, I would like to take your learned advice in the matter. I am a student, cannot afford such a huge charge. Thanking you, N Shah
