my difficult and demanding daughter

My daughter was born discontented. My husband gave me no support so I left him. In time I remarried. After six months, my new husband walked out saying he couldn't cope with her. When I tried to make new relationships she became difficult and jealous. When she was 12, I met my current husband who found her behavior towards me abhorrent. We married when she was 16. Her behavior worsened and we physically fought so I threw her out of the house. She is now with her father. We phone each other but she is too busy with her boyfriend and college to visit me or talk to me. I feel at 39 I have wasted the best years of my life bringing up an ungrateful, demanding daughter and am frustrated at the unfairness of it all. I have no happy mother-daughter relationship to look forward to and this upsets me tremendously.
