Maytag Washers

If reading this prevents just one person from buying a Maytag appliance then it was worth it. I bought a brand new fridge and washer. 1 year and 1 month later the refrigerator fan went. It was fixed twice by Maytag. The 3rd time i hot an independnet contractor that rigged his own fan and it I haven't had a probelm w/ it since. 2 and a 1/2 years the washer goes. The warrnaty says it covers tranmission and transmission assemblies. Great! I call Maytag and they want to charge me $175.00 for the repaie guy and another $100. for the ball bearings in the transmission!! WHAT?! Evidently they don't count that as part of the transmission. Give me a break...
