I was assessed a $36 late fee by Juniper Bank who works for/with Farm Bureau Bank to process their credit card payments. I was repeatedly told by a callous staff supervisor- Charles Gilbert, that he could ,but would not rescind the late fee because they receive the payment late. I paid Farm Bureau on 9/7/06 and it was processed by Chase Bank on 9/11 to arrive at Farm Bureau Bank on the due date of 9/18. I found out after being on the phone with Juniper bank and chase bank for about an hour that the mailing address for Farm Bureau Bank had changed in August. I never saw that notice ,nor do I recall seeing it in my email. I have not made late payments to Farm Bureau Bank for my credit card or Car loan in over 4 years that I can recall. Mr. Charles Gilbert also said that he did not see where I had made any late payments, but that he was not going to remove the late payment because the payment did not arrive by the 18th. He just said that he had the authority to remove the late payment ,but that he would not because the payment did not arrive on the 18th. He just kept saying that it arrived late. I closed my account with Farm Bureau Bank and will pay off the balance so that they don't get another penny from me unless I get some satisfaction from corporate Farm Bureau or Juniper or whoever owns my accounts now. I want my $36 late fee rescinded because this was the first month that their aI want my $36 late fee rescinded because this was the first month that their address had changed and because not enough notice was given to alert me to the change of address.
