isuzu,the oil burner

I own Isuzu Trooper, 2000 year model.It burns oil at unbelievable speed.Oil does not leak anywhere, it just disappears. Isuzu dealer says it is normal to add 1 quart of oil every 1000 miles. Say what? I have to add 3 bottles of oil in between oil change (every 3000mi)? And it's normal? There are thousands of Trooper owners who have the same problem and post there complains on the Web. Isuzu has to finally listen up and recall its vehicles. I am tired of constantly checking oil.
