How can the banks change your interest rate at any time to any amount for any reason or no reason and you have no recource? I hate interest rates. With my Chase Card one time I bought a funeral arrangement for my boss's mother and unknowingly went over my limit by $30...they charged an overlimit fee of course and upped my interest from 5.99% to 30 (thirty)#$^&! % ! this was on a balance of about $2500. Fortunately I was able to pay about $500 cash immediately and transfer the balance to a 0% with Compass bank which gave me 9 months to pay back for a $50 fee. I never intend to use the Chase card again but called anyway to see if I could lover the interest rate..they said no! The following month they increased my credit line to $6000...I am not crazy..will not pay anyone 30% interest on anything...this is highway robbery and the friggin government backs this outrage.
