Indifference

We have been married for nearly 25 years, and are both still healthy and active. We have two children, 20 and 11 years old. The flame has flickered and died. I need a partner, and now realize that I never really had one in him. Divorce (at least one initiated by me) is out of the question, but I fear he will just walk away one day because he is totally indifferent to me or our relationship. He clearly loves the children, but my eleven year old lacks the direction that an involved father should provide for him. We have no social life together, and what little I have is centered around work. Only two of my friends (an older couple) feel welcome to visit me at home. And then there is his 82-year-old mother, who lives a short train ride away. But that's a whole other complaint...
