You and your school choral group from St. Helena were visiting our junior college in southern California. Two or three of you slept over at our apartment. We partied hard that night and got pretty drunk. Later on I came to your bed and started to make out with you. I don't remember clearly but I may have had sex with you. I behaved inappropriately to say the least. At the time you kind of went along, but I think it was because you were drunk. In the morning, you were upset. Your choir director wrote a letter to mine regarding the incident, but a friend of mine who worked in the office, saw it and intercepted it, so it never reached its destination. I want to tell you that I am deeply sorry for my behavior and I hope that you suffered no serious long term effects from it. I was a stupid, selfish and drunk 19 or 20 year old. I've carried this with me for all these years and I wish I could go back and undo it. I hope your life has been good and that you have left behind any hurt that I may have caused you . Please forgive me.

Well, it does sound ;like you are truly sorry. Sometimes in our youth we do extremely foolish things. Yes, hopefully the girl got over the incident. Chances are, after 30 years, she has. Part of the fogiveness process is being able to forgive yourself for something you did. Between the time you were 19 and now you've become an entirely different person (if you've learned from your mistakes). What's done is done, and it doesn't sound as if you completely assaulted the girl. Hope you find peace.
