My niece is always welcome over at my house, my entire family is. I'm having issues dealing with my niece though. My sister is much older than I am. She is from my dad's first marriage, I am from his third. I am only five years older than my niece. I'm 27 and she is 22. She comes over almost every night and watches movies with me, we eat dinner together, and we go out all the time together from doing grocery shopping to when we even went on a cruise together last year. We are more brother and sister than Uncle and Niece. We never grew up together, we got in contact after my dad died and she suddenly became clingy. I didn't even know I had an older sister who was old enough to be my mom until dad died. The problem is people assume we are dating or married and she does everything she can to make them think that. While I love it when she cuddles up and gives me kisses, she is overly affectionate in public. She will sit kiss me in front of other people and make sure they are watching. She's sat on my lap when we've gone out drinking and has placed my hands on her breasts just to make a point to the guys there that she isn't interested in them. I don't mind her cuddling up next to me at home and giving me kisses and hugs, but when she does this in public it's like she is trying to prove something. I've tried to talk to her but she laughs it off and says she's just fucking with people, but when we get home she is as sweet as can be. She's stayed overnight many times, we've shared the same bed...with our clothes on. If I have a date and ask her to stay away for a day or two she does. When she comes over after my date she always asks me how it went, sometimes she asks me way too personal questions about my dates, and she is always super cuddly and affectionate for a few days. I feel stupid but it took me a long time to realize that she is in love with me, not as an uncle or brother, but she wants me to be her boyfriend or something. I don't know what to do. If I tell her to stop coming over it will be devastating to her. If I make her sleep on the sofa she'll want to know what she did wrong. I love my niece but I'm not in love with her if you know what I mean.
