We bought a new computer, Dell XP and attempted to hook up our old Dell Officejet v40printer and of course the technology did not work. I contacterd HP on Monday October 29, 2006 at tel #208 323 2551 to see if it was possible to get the printer to hook up to my new computer and was told to order a CD that would allow me to use my existing printer. I ordered the CD, plainly printed on the front is Windows, 98, Me, 2000, XP. Upon installation we received error messages'no signature on file', 'product not registered'. I called 208 323 2551 back and was told that my printer was out of warranty, obsolete to buy a new printer or pay for the techinical support because my printer was out of warranty. I explained that the printer was not broken but the new softwear from HP did not work. The agent(from India) refused to assit me and tried to send me to HP Online Support. He hung up leaving me with no recourse. VERY BAD EXPERIENCE!!!!! When are these companies going to wake up?
