Harrison Building and Loan-uncooperative

I have been a customer of Harrison Building and Loan for several years now. I have my savings there and they also hold my mortgage. I was recently put out of work with only 6 months to go until I can retire. I contacted Harrison and explained my situation, stating that I will be financially fit once my pension kicks in but in the meantime I was running a little short. What I requested was what other lenders have been known to do for those in my situation, allow me to make interest only payments. They flatly refused, saying their computers were not set up to do that. They went on to say that if I became three months in arrears they would start foreclosure proceedings. That was a great thing to say to someone who is trying to work with them and avoid just that. My point is folks, whenever you need a mortgage do yourself a favor and DO NOT consider Harrison Building and Loan. They won't work with you in hard times, but they will let you know how long you've got until they come to take your home.
