Back in early June we bought 2 bar stools from Linens N Thing in Brentwood Ca, and that's where the nightmare started. The clerk pressured my 78 year old Mom into opening an account to save a few $, so she did. The 1st stool had half the hardware missing, so they took it from another one. Then, the 2nd stool was warped, cracked and unsafe. Upon returning it, I was told that they would get one from another store within approx. 1 week. So after hearing nothing by mid July I went to see why. They then said one was being shipped for inventory & they would call when it arrived. I told them that was not what I was told, and they said ohh well, it's too late now. A little bit irritated I left and waited. About the 3rd week of July we get a bill for $172.90, and we paid it in full, payment posted Aug. 4th. So after several more calls, they piss me off, ands now I am done with their BS over the phone. I went to the store, contacted the manager and told her that I better have the other stool in 2 days, or the poo was going to hit the fan. The manager then drove to another store(25 miles away) on her own time to get our other stool to keep me from going postal. I bring it home, and parts were missing on it too, so after going back, they took more from the 'donor' stool to complete ours. Done deal, but 2 months late, 3 hours of phone calls, and a dozen trips to the store... and I ain't very happy after all of this, so that was going to be the last time we set foot in their store. Well in mid Sept we get a bill for a $39 late charge??? I called and they said we didn't pay the ist bill, and I told them them yes we did, and in full! They demanded payment, and I told them to go away. The phone calls started every half hour soon after that (still Sept.) and continue today. Now the late charge bill we didn't owe is up to almost $100. I called cust service and argued with a non english speaking cust serv person, on up to the supervisor. The supervisor wouldn't shut her pie hole so I could explain, and when I got mad, she refused to talk anymore, and sent me to the collection agency it was sent to. After talking to that person who listened, we discovered that another bill WAS sent... just to the wrong address... So how the hell is that our fault? The lady said it might take another month to clear up, and I said NO... this has to stop. She told me it was their process slowing things down, be patient and they would send a letter when it was cleared up. I told her to STOP the approx. 10 harassing calls a day and she said she would. That was a month ago, and now they even are calling before 8 am on Sundays! Upon refinancing our house, we now found out that a negative report has been sent to the 3 major credit agencies, damaging our credit and making it impossible to get a good rate for refinancing. All of this is for something we didn't and don't owe, and their mistake. I have now HAD IT! Asses are going to start getting kicked, and legal action is being started for damages etc. They have me so mad now, that I have considered extreme actions that would likely put me in jail, but I will rot in hell before they win, and you can bet your last nickel they are going to pay and pay big time. After some serious searching, favors being called in etc., I came up with a list of corporate phone numbers, and starting tomorrow I am going to start calling the CEO, President, VP and 92 others every half hour to poop in their necks until the harassment stops, and I succeed in my suit for damages, harassment, and a host of other things. The FTC is also going to jump on board, telephone company is logging their calls to use in court as proof of their unethical methods of customer service, illegal collection actions being taken, and the methods used to try to embezzle money from us we don't owe.
