The cost of insurance and property taxes is absolutely stunning. Businesses are going belly up due to the unavailability of insurance or in the event they can actually buy it they can't afford it. I think the folks who live inland should help us pay for insurance via their premiums - you know lump everyone into one grouping for insurance pricing and stop these local spikes. Yeah, I hear it now, those whining folks who say that isnt' fair when they live somewhere in middle Kentucky or somewhere like it. This is the UNITED STATES with the key word being UNITED so unite the insurance risks across the county to level out premiums. If not where will those folks go from Kentucky and other area when no body can afford to live here and the State of Florida dries up. Where will inland states get their Orange Juice? How will they see Mickey Mouse? Gas is $3 a gallon so driving to California is not plausable and I think they have many of the same issues as us here in Florida.
