I recently relocated to Washington from California, I rented an apartment from Equity Management thinking I was getting a decent apartment in a safe area at a slighty elevated rate. When I arrived in Washington, they weren't sure my apartment was ready- even though I had already been paying rent on it for three days. Okay the apartment was ready with the exception of my closet doors and one shower needed a door yet. Three weeks later I had no closet doors, and the shower was still missing its door which I was told had been ordered, then it wasn't available. Okay remove the metal plates for the shower door, no big deal and I can live without closet doors for a while. Then I started noticing the people in my neighbor. I moved into a ghetto without realizing it. To be fair they do keep the grounds decent but two months into living here they reduced trash service. And in October they are moving to one compactor, haul your own. The police are driving through here three times a day, and about every week there is some sort of incident in which they are here for a while. I had to live without running water in my kitchen for two days because they didn't call a plumber- and my cats got infested with fleas from the carpeting. I had maintenance enter my apartment with me home without my permission due to a paperwork screw-up. The original rent increased $25.00 from what I was originally told. The sewer, trash and water charge is in excess of $60.00 per month. And when my lease expires they want me to pay $100.00 more for this fabulous lifestyle. Run, run from Equity Management.
