Banking Efficiency

How is it that Banks seem to have an immunity to explain themselves for anything they do yet they shout from the rooftops the minute they receive any type of accolade. The bank I dealt with was inept to say the least, did not know what each department was doing or saying, lost important paperwork, failed to deliver cheque books on time yet they think by just saying its one of those things excuses them!
