drs. never suggest natural remedies

There has never been a time when my med. Dr. has suggested a natural remedy for my health concerns. I think manufactured medications, primarily synthetic ones should only be used as a last ditch effort to control an illness. At the very least natural remedies should be suggested when appropriate. Why does the public have to fall prey to the huge cost of medicine when there is often a much less expensive and more benign alternative?
