Confession of an Identity Thief
Posted May 15, 2011 by Mark X. | 677 views | 3 comments
My name is not my name. I bought a dead man’s identity when I came out of prison. My own name has a string of bad records against it and I knew I could never be someone else with that name. When I decided to turn my life around, I committed one last crime: identity theft. Sometimes now I don’t recognize my new name. I have never told anyone else not even my wife. When she calls me by name and I don’t answer, she worries that I’m worrying too much. But the truth is that sometimes I forget myself in the old life.
