I have been a customer of Charter Communications for years. October 2005, I bought a new TV and connect the cable/box but it was not working. I called Charter and they sent a technician. Their tech wrote down and told me that my box was defective. I don't watch TV often but my disable daughter does. I called corporate office and was given Alex, he calls himself the liason of charter @ my area. I explain to him the problem and he said since I did not called ASAP he can only give me a credit of $120.00, I told him, I don't that's fair. He also told me that I can go ahead and call the corporate office 24 hrs and it will always goes to him. I called corporate again not believing that a large company such as charter would ignore the problem. He was right, I got a call from him again. This time I said since this is not going anywhere go ahead and credit my bill of $120.00. He told, sorry, you should have taken it when I offered to you. I know there are many customers of Charter Communications who have severe problems with them and I believe charter is taking advantage of it because Charter Communications has jurisdiction on my area and even though we have access to direct TV, they also know the Apt complex is set up so we don't have a line of sight. Further, since I can't get any help, I downgrade to basic. I asked how many channels on their basic program and I was told 33 channels. Just to find out that I only have 12 channels. I called customer care and I was told not their problem and I have to be transferred to another department. I talked to, I guess, cancellation department? I was told that if I connect a DVD player would cause the rest of the channels to be unaccessable. What kind of service is this? Why would connecting a DVD player have anything to do with the other channels? I would like to know anyone to that has problems with Charter Communications for a Class Lawsuit - please email me @ mv1jade123@yahoo.com
