broiler in my wolf oven

I have a wolf 30 inch 4 burner stove, with a oven and broiler. Purchased in april 2003, didn't set into place and start using until end of july or early august. Being their is only my wife and I living here and using this stoves oven & broiler only a few times one would expect same to last forever or many years for sure. Wrong, first started to have trouble with the broiler around christmas of 2005. Like I stated we by eating out or bringing in ready made meals especially from whole foods, we kind of let the broiler situation slip our minds until the wife tried to use the broiler again around may of this year. The wife had turned on the broiler which is supposed to take roughly 45 seconds to be ignited by the broiler igniter, but to our suprise their was a small EXPLOSION in the oven when igniting. I was in the front room roughly 25 to 30 feet a way and it scared the heck out of both of us not just her. I can only add that it very lucky she was away from the oven door when it happened and not opening it up. One would think that by paying around $5,500 for a wolf stove, warming shelf and exhaust it would last longer than a couple of years. Now heres the real kicker of this whole sherade, I called wolf told them my story and they told me to contact one of their service suppliers. That I did about four months ago, I called tham and told them that I needed a new igniter for the broiler and not the igniter for the oven as the oven igniter works fine. The service man shows up was here ten minutes tries the oven and broiler and tells me I need a new igniter for the broiler and he does not have one. He hands me a service call bill for $65.00 and tells me he will order the part and see me in a couple of weeks. Like clock work he shows in a couplof weeks puts in the igniter and hands me another bill for $165.00. WALLA, that was about two months ago, now friday evening of oct 13 the wife uses the broiler for the first time since. My son whom was visiting was sitting in the dining room when much to BOTH of their amasements low and behold another small explosion in the oven because of the broiler igniter! Wolf had a recall before maybe a year before we bought this and it looks to me that this is exactly the same problem. I have also learned that they have now only one igniter for both units in newer models. I also found out that in units as mine when the igniter ignites, it stays ignited for through the duration of the cooking cycle.

Hi, I love your internet site if I'm truthful. Wherever did you get it built?

I've had the same problem with my 36" wolf. The repair man replace the ignited and, for $630, the broiler itself. The problem still exists, neither fix did any good.
