I've been depressed because it was nearing Valentines day and I didn't have a boyfriend. I'm 14 and it seems like all my friends have dates with their boyfriends but don't have anyone. When dad came home from work yesterday he handed me a bag and said to put this on because we are going out. The bag was heavy and he bought me the best outfit ever! He took me to get my hair and makeup done and I looked like I was 20. Dad took me out to a really nice place and we were dancing then had the best dinner I evr had. The waiter brought me a dozen roses and a slice of chocolate cake with raspberry sauce that was to die for. Dad told me he didn't want me to feel bad about not having a date. I didn't want the night to end. I know it was my dad and not a real date but it really was the best night ever.

Wish my dad was around to take me out. Always getting deployed, the government never cared about the families that they had to leave behind.
