Bad Rumor

Once, I decided to see how far a rumor could go amongst my circle of friends and family. So, I started one. It was dastardly and looking back now, I think I overreached myself with the “secret” I let go. I told my friend that I think my sister was getting a divorce. Even though she promised not to tell anyone, she told some friends until word got to one of my cousins who brought it home and told my mum. When my father heard, he went crimson and didn’t even wait to confront my sister but went straight to her husband. The ruckus it generated took six months to clear and no one traced the lie to me.
