Atmos energy decided to reapply payments that my tenant had made for utilities a month and a half later, after the house had been sold and the account had been closed and paid in full. After payment was reapplied to the tenants 'new' account they sent my new outstanding charges directly to collections without notification. I had no idea this was going on. I tried to resolve but was bullied by Atmos. I replied back to the collection agency to dispute (Professional Finance Company), but they completely ignored my request now have negatively impacted my credit score. I did nothing. I paid my bills, refunded the tenant all his deposit. I would rather had been mugged in the streets than screwed by a cash rich oil company from Texas!!
