As an artist, should I refuse or accept?

Please no hurtful words, please keep it simple and clean. People tell others to face reality all day...it has even been said to me as a child. It tortures me, accepting that reality has passed fiction and as an artist, I just don't know whether to accept it...I am lost! What will become of the world's beauty if we were to accept it so easily? Would there be no more role for mankind and artists as well? "We" (As in everyone around the world) strive upon our imagination to create a better future. I mean look at science, roughly most of science is based on theory at first, am I not right? And how we build our structures takes imagination and calculation. Will all be lost if I accept reality? The other day I spoke to my guidance counsellor, he told me, "That question...it's a really hard one to answer..." It seemed I made him depressed. I don't want to accept, but they're forcing me to. Who ever made up that saying "Just accept reality" should give it a second thought... I am sorry if that sounded confusing to you but I trying to put my feelings down into world is already hard as it is.

Hello there. I'm not gonna be hurtfull (or at least not intentionally) but you need to take your head from out of the clouds. Your 'confession' baffles me and I thought I had some pretty abstract thought patterns. I don't have a clue what you aimed to express here but from what I can gather you're artistic and you like nature. Try and make some money from your talent and your appreciation for the things around you and then who knows? You may begin to grasp a better understanding of reality? It's a tough one, I beleive everybody makes there own reality to an extent but you seem to be out in the wilderness somewhere with no signal on your cellphone. Just stop analysing things so much and searching for a hidden meaning all the time. Appreciate the things around you that you get enjoyment from and channel it all in to your art. I don't have a clue what else to say so take care :-)

uuummmmm...NO. Reality doesn't care whatever about your acceptance or not. Entertain stupidity and you will live the cosequences. It sounds to me that you're thinking way too much into this. Reality, to be commanded, must be obeyed...the sun will rise whether you accept it or not. Water is water whether you accept it as such or not. I'd rather be creative and artistic in reality, like einstein and other greats who accepted reality, than creative and artistic ( delusional ) against reality. Just accept your power to create and know that without reality, there would be nothing to create.
